DUBLIN 2000

 Corinthian's Easter Festival: Dublin, 21st-24th April 2000

The Annual Tour this time headed across the Irish Sea and to the Emerald Isle. As tradition required the team played a good deal of high quality hockey, followed by an even greater amount of high quality socialising.

We were all very impressed when the hotel accommodation far surpassed our expectations and those of us in need were able to get our regular 'Simpsons' fix due to satellite television in each room.

Bolstered by our trio from Harleston; Tristan Baynes, Mark Braybrook and Rob Wagstaff, we won all of our five games over the three playing days. It was interesting to see National league players plying their skills on grass as well as water based astro!

Irish hospitality lived up to it's reputation and such as Andy Hipper's shameful episode will go down in club tour mythology, much to his embarrassment.

All in all a very memorable tour in which all those who participated enjoyed themselves in the hot Easter sunshine. Watch out for details of this season's efforts, when we hope to field two teams.

 'Shaggy' dons the lid.

A quiet moment in the hotel bar (before the screaming hordes descended!).

'Paunchy' (the non playing tour member) scores off the pitch.

'5 plates' earning his tour name.

What seemed like Dublin's only curry house!
